Our Commitment to Accuracy
Every coupon code on SavingAims is manually verified before it appears on the site. We do not publish codes we have not tested. This page explains exactly how that process works, what "verified" means in practice, how we monitor codes after they go live, and what happens when a code stops working.
What "Verified" Means
A code is marked as verified on SavingAims only when all of the following are true:
- The code was entered at the retailer's actual checkout pageb not tested through a third-party tool or assumed to work based on the offer page.
- The stated discount appeared in the order total before payment. For percentage-off codes, the exact percentage was confirmed. For free-shipping codes, the shipping line was confirmed as zero.
- No error message was shown. Codes that return "invalid", "expired", or "minimum not met" are not published.
- The code worked on a standard item in the relevant category, not only on a single edge-case product.
Verification is done by a member of our team, not by an automated script. We believe automated checks miss too many edge cases, minimum cart requirements, product exclusions, single-use restrictions, to be relied on alone.
How We Check Codes Before Publishing
- Source confirmation. We identify the origin of the code, the retailer's own promotions page, a confirmed affiliate feed, or a direct merchant communication. We do not publish user-submitted codes without first testing them ourselves.
- Live checkout test. We visit the retailer's website, add a qualifying product to the cart, and apply the code at checkout.
- Discount verification. We confirm the discount shows correctly in the cart total before any payment step.
- Terms check. We read the offer terms for key restrictions, expiry date, minimum spend, excluded products, single-use limits, and note them on the listing where relevant.
- Publish. Only after all the above steps are complete does the code go live on the store page.
How We Monitor Codes After They Go Live
Verification at time of publishing is not enough, retailers change their promotions constantly. Here is how we keep listings up to date:
- Expiry date tracking. When a code has a stated end date, we schedule it for removal on that date. Codes are not left live after their stated expiry.
- Rolling re-checks. Codes without a stated expiry are re-checked on a regular schedule. High-traffic stores are reviewed more frequently than smaller ones.
- User reports. Shoppers can flag any code using the report button on a store page. Every report is reviewed by our team and acted on within 24 hours.
- Retailer notifications. When a retailer communicates a promotion change to us directly, we update or remove the affected codes immediately.
What Happens When a Code Stops Working
When a code is confirmed as expired or invalid, whether through a user report, a scheduled re-check, or a retailer notification, it is removed from the site within 24 hours. We do not move expired codes to a "may not work" section or keep them live with a disclaimer. If we cannot confirm a code works, it comes down.
If all active codes for a store have expired and no new ones are available, we update the store page to reflect that and actively look for new offers rather than leaving stale listings in place.
How to Report a Code That Does Not Work
If you try a code from SavingAims and it does not work at checkout, please let us know. You can:
- Click the Report or Flag button on any store page, it takes under ten seconds and is the fastest route to a fix.
- Use the contact form with the store name and code so we can investigate directly.
We review every report. When a report is confirmed, the code is removed and the reporter does not receive a follow-up (there is no account system), but the listing is corrected for everyone else.
Affiliate Relationships and Editorial Independence
SavingAims earns an affiliate commission from retailers when a purchase is made through a link on this site. This commercial relationship does not influence which codes we publish, how we verify them, or how quickly we remove expired ones. We do not charge retailers to feature their coupons, and we do not keep a code live in exchange for payment. Every listing decision is made on editorial grounds, does the code work, is it useful to shoppers, and is it accurate?
